During the Christmas of 2006, I traveled to Beijing to support a sales deal. Christmas, not an official holiday in China yet, is mostly the byproduct to meet the demands created by marketing promotions.
Before I went to Beijing, I heard the recent fad there was to dine in a royal residence. It’s definitely the special in Beijing where used to host many generations of em priors and royalties. My co-workers in China recommended me the restaurant which used to be the Empreros’s brother’s royal residence. Since it had something to do with “royalty”, the environment and decor is extravagantly gorgeous and traditional. The service is first-class. The price is certainly beyond expensive.
In traditional Chinese culture, “yellow” is the symbol for royalties. The special type of “yellow” belongs only to the em prior. The other royalties can share different shades of yellow. Any shades of yellow is prohibited among the normal people.
The place is huge and has a garden and a little lake at the back yard. If you ever go to this place when the weather is warm, it’s supposed to be a very romantic to dine in the garden overseeing the lake and red lanterns.
