Sample Volume:    In the ascending aorta (asc Ao) Normal Flow:    Systolic Abnormal Findings: Increased systolic flow velocity and spectral broadening due to aortic or subaortic stenosis. Retrograde diastolic flow due to severe aortic insufficiency.

Sample Volume:  In the descending aorta Normal Flow:  Systolic Abnormal Finding:  Increased systolic flow velocity and spectral broadening due to a coarctation of the  aorta.
