In the Beginning there was the Word...

November 23, 2006 Thanksgiving

In the beginning there was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. --Gospel of John

(Simon Peter recognized and received Him, as had all who came after Simon, and their darkness became light. Perhaps thanks to Simon's singular realization, they were all now Children of God--The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry)

I owe you all, many Thanks!

The 23rd Psalm Psalm of David

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the
paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death; I will fear no evil: for thou
art with me; thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the
presence of mine enemies: thou anointest
my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all
the days of my life; and I will dwell in the
house of the Lord for ever.

The lord watches over his people. (a song of ascents.)
I lift up my eys to the hills-
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip
he who watches over you will not slumber
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you
the LORD is our shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night

The LORD will keep you from all harm
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

Happy Thanksgiving!
EvaLuna 回复 悄悄话 那么说,顺序依次是:word -->god-->life (man), light, darkness -->children of god. 无论如何,the word is God, if u know what i mean.
