上海外国语大学语言文学研究所的教授金立鑫教授明确提出，龙确实并不是中华民族的象征，而是封建专制的符号，崇拜龙对中华民族并无好处。他称，龙凶猛、残暴，因为龙象征皇权、专制，所以自己不喜欢龙。并就此话题与网友在网上进行激辩。
