Watched Slumdog Millionaire

It was depressing to watch Slumdog Millionaire, a movie about poverty, suffering and violence. Yet the movie also told us a touching story, a story about audacity, hope and love. Jamul, a cute poor little Indian boy, who grew up from slums, was not afraid of anything. In order to survive, he had to steal, rob, did dirty work, but he never lost his human dignity. His love to Latika, from his childhood girl friend to a beautiful young woman never wavered. And it transcended all the barrier and succeeded.

A Slumdog knew all the answers to the ‘Who wants to be a millionair’ show. No coincidence! He learned all the answers by his miserable life experience. This Hollywood drama won 8 Oscar awards. The Slumdog little Indian stars proudly walked on the red carpet. It was amazing to see this happen. Yet I am more concerned about the people who lived under the nonhuman conditions. I knew the movie dramatized the poverty, but it did make my heart wrenching by seeing so many people still live in such a horrific conditions.
