终点 起点

Life is like this. Once one reaches an end, a new beginning always welcomes him/her, except death. For example, the end of college education is followed by the beginning of a career. Education, career goes this way, so does relationship.

Everything for my next step has settled. So a new start is coming for me. Isn’t it exciting? Most importantly, the new start begins at a higher level, which, I hope, will open more doors for me and lead me a better life in the States. I’ve experienced several exciting days since last Friday, talking with people one after another, sharing good news and, most importantly, appreciating their sincere help. I talked with my previous boss, a 58-year-old scientist, this morning. I know she is always working very hard so she doesn’t have any gap regarding being funded. In my opinion, she is tough and successful. What surprised me when I suggested she could slow down a bit to enjoy life is she wanted to find another faculty position even it is very difficult at her age. Her thought is simple “you never know if you don’t try.” What a fundamental and usually overlooked truth!! So just do it. I am happy I tried and made it.  Otherwise, I would never know how far I could go.

Now what I am trying to do is calm down and embrace the dawn of my new life.

再次祝贺呀，真得挺不容易的。这几个月就好好休息，休息。
接下来的两年又会很辛苦的，But you can do it! :))
