Blood drive

I donated 450ml blood yesterday. I felt a bit shameful since I haven't donated any blood since I came to this country. My last donation happened when I was in college. Actually, one of my girl friends and I had the idea of donating blood for kids even before I really did it. For some reason, we failed to do it. a few months later, blood drive started in our college and we eventually had the opportunity. Although it was called donation, we actually received discounted and high-nutrition meals for probably two weeks in addition to a small amount of money as compensate. Here in the US, it is a donation, except a bottle of drink and/or a small bag of snack. When I showed my kid bandaged arm, he said he was so proud of me. I hope I will set a positive model for him. and In the future, he also loves helping others.


Hope some day I can be brave enough to try bone marrow donation.

I never heard of what you said. But good to know. am glad I eventually did what I thought many many times.

I heard that giving blood every six months led to fewer heart attacks and strokes.that is a good idea, not only it is good to someone who needs it, but it's good for our own as well.

I felt shameful too since I didn't donate blood before, Now it is time to think about it.
