Since she was born, Olivia has received letters from Daddy, Mommy, Granna and Pop. However, one day back in July she received a letter from someone she didn't know. We knew it was a personal letter as it had a residential address. We also knew it was from
Wow, what a nice surprise!!! It turned out that Ms. Maxine is a lady who was in the same basket weaving class with Granna. She is the one who visits Granna's house every year on Christmas Day whom I met before and Olivia probably met her couple of times as well. However none of us remembered her name. Sorry, Ms. MaxineL.
I was so touched by this letter. Talking about little things make big impact, how sweet Ms. Maxine was to write this letter to Olivia, who was a little girl she only met a couple of times. She didn't have to do this at all. However, she did and this letter for sure was a big booster for Olivia's self esteem as someone who likes writing. It meant so much to her.
Thank you Ms Maxine! We really appreciate your kindness and we will cherish your letter forever! J
I told Olivia and Evan that this letter meant more than just Ms. Maxine liking Olivia's writing. It told us that sometimes a little extra we do can make a big difference in someone's life and I hope they all grow up to be someone like Ms. Maxine.
In fact, although not strongly shown in Evan yet as he is maturing up, Olivia has always been a loving and caring girl and she would and had gone above and beyond to do nice things for other people. She will be taking babysitting class in January and has applied a program to go to the nursery to help out the elderly. I have no doubt she will be a great helper thereJ. And with the influence of his sister, I am sure Evan will show more and more of his loving and caring side as wellJ.
