Another Boyfriend on the List

Today at the night story time, Olivia said to me: "Mom, my friend Lewis at school was very nice to me."

"Lewis? Is it a boy?" I asked.

"A boy and he always does nice things to me." Olivia continued.

"Really? What kind of nice things? Can you give me an example?" I was curious.

"Hm…no." Olivia blushed while she stroke some of her hair off her face. "I don't know, I don’t know how to explain it to you." She was shy and looking cute.

"But anyway, I decided if he does one more nice thing to me, I am going to add him to my boyfriend list." Olivia said.

I haven't heard her talking about "boyfriend" since Michael or Jonathan, for the past half year since she started school.

"You have a boyfriend list?!" I acted as if I was surprised. She hasn’t mentioned the word "boyfriend" since Michael or Jonathan after she started the school this fall.

"Yeah, hahaha…" she laughed, "I have ten boyfriends on the list already and Lewis will be the 11^th one."

That's a lot of boyfriends for a first grader :)
