I read three articles about Living on “Bucks County Herald ,November 28, 2024”, Barbara gave me the newspaper.
1) (A)
Cantus Novus presents its December concert series,“Royalty and Revelry," featuring the works of Palestrina and Rutter, as well as a variety of familiar carol settings.
Opening the December concerts is a mainstay of the Cantus Novus tradition; an eight-part, double choir motet "Ave Maria"from the Renais- sance master Giovanni Palestrina.
Hailed as the heavenly Queen, Mary, the mother of Jesus, has been honored and paid musical tribute to in various settings of the"Magnificat."
The revelry continues with a variety of carol settings, each with a freshness and compelling musical intensity that audiences have come to expect and appreciate from Cantus Novus. Windsor family enthusiasts will be especially pleased to hear Queen Elizabeth's"Winchester Carol, composed by Roderick Williams. Other selections include an arrangement of "Mary Did You Know"by Craig Courtney and an intriguing take on "The Holly and the Ivy"by Kirby Shaw. Pieces also include"My King is Coming Soon" by Kyle Pederson and "I Will Light Candles This Christmas"by Kim Amesen. The program rounds out with music from Culloton, Britten, and Davis.
(B) I think: Cantus Novus is an auditioned choral group located in Bucks County, PA.
When I lived in Beijing, my home was very close to the Yuan Dynasty Capital City Wall Ruins Park. There was a small pavilion in the park, and every Sunday morning many people gathered around the pavilion to sing together.
2) (A) After Thanksgiving lots of folks search for holiday sales, while others head for special events at local wineries or seek out the many craft shows held during the holiday weekend.
It’s a weekend when many of us are on the go, and when we come home are happy to put together the easiest suppers in the world using turkey leftovers.
There is no need for leftover turkey to be boring. It is good in place of ground beef in taco or enchilada recipes, can be made into a breakfast hash, used in chef salad, backed into casseroles and pot pies, or included in soup or chowder.
Hot or cold, turkey sandwiches top the list of ways to enjoy Thanksgiving leftovers. Some folks pile the bread high with turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, while others prefer to warm the meat, toast the bread and cover it with leftover gravy. It is easy to extend the amount of gravy you made by adding chicken or turkey broth to the drippings. That way you will have plenty for the next day.
(B) I think: Christmas isn't a major holiday in China; the Spring Festival is. Chinese people eat chicken, not turkey. Chinese people eat three meals a day and rarely snack. Americans, however, prepare a variety of snacks, including chips and desserts, for meetings and entertainment.
I'm used to Chinese food.
3) (A) Habitat Bucks dedicates home in Croydon

(B) I think: I am happy to see Christian’s photo in the newspaper, happily standing at the door of her beautiful new home.
I know from Wikipedia: Habitat for Humanity is an international housing charity. Founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller, Habitat's mission is "A World of Homes for All." Habitat began its work in mainland China in 2000, with branches in Yunnan, Guangdong, Guangxi, Sichuan, and Shanghai. It actively collaborates with local governments and other partners to build housing projects.
Since its founding in 1976, Habitat has successfully provided safe and comfortable homes for over one million families and over five million people worldwide.
