Nancy Pelosi won the election of the House representative and debut on a new stage this Wednesday. As a congresswoman and a mother of five children, she has successfully juggled her family and her career.
She is a conservative Democrat and a pragmatist. She pushed back the ideas of denying financial support to our troops in Iraq, although she had long opposed the war like other Democrats. Instead, she worked quietly with a veteran who had supported the war and got him to express his growing doubts about it. She also disagreed with the very liberal idea of universal health plan because she realized that we couldn’t afford it and it was hard to satisfy everyone. As for her new job, her advisers say she wants to wok in a bipartisan manner, but not agree to everything.
