二零二零母亲节

 

今天一早就收到儿子的祝福，他没有送花，而是写了一首诗送给我。读着读着眼睛就湿润了...

 

“妈妈，

 

Happy Mother's Day!

 

一般我会给您送花，但是今年因为冠状病毒流行，我没有给您点儿花，今年我决定给您写一首小诗代表我对您的爱。

 

 

beyond words

 

you are the light in my life that

never stops shining. friends come and go

but you will always be there for me.

I came from you, the tender womb

you gave me such life.

 

sometimes

we may yell and scream and cry 

but always after, I know that we do it because we care

about each other with

only love beating out of our chests. 

 

all the times I went abroad, know that

I was not trying to leave you. I was trying to 

leave America. but I returned to see you

I will always come back 

so I thought: let's go to a new place

ones you have never seen

to show you that the world is beautiful

and that life is joyful

and that we can be together

because this is what you have taught me:

how to exist.

 

I cannot thank you enough

you deserve more than flowers because

you have taught me how to love and

what love means

how complicated

how pure

how true

this is the most valuable lesson that

any mother can teach her son. it is

beyond words.
