I wrote this on 6/17/2013 for my ToastMasters assignment.
My Seven-year-old son - Allen
Good Evening, ToastMasters and Honored Guests.
As you know from my BIOs, that I am a mother of 2 sons, tonight, I’d like to talk more about my younger son, Allen. He is 7 years old. He has many characters. Tonight, I will talk about the 6 characters he shows almost every day: cute, funny, energetic, organized, smart, and sweet.
Allen is cute. He is 4 feet and 2 inches tall and weighs 60 lb. His eyes glow like pearls when he’s excited. I was always pleased by looking at him. His hair is black and soft. He likes to have a little style after the hair cut. Right now, he has a triangle with a dot inside at top of his head. He had number 7 last time.
Allen is funny, he likes to act out dramatically, when you say something funny, he will say words like “laugh, laugh, or LOL” to you instead of laughing. He may also add words as “exclamation mark, question mark” to show his excitement or doubt. When you laugh at his words, then he will laugh and say, “just joking!”. He also loved being tickled. When he got ticked by Alex, he would roll on the floor and laugh so hard. If you stop tickling him, he will ask for more. So we call him “laughing machine” and he will call you “tickling machine”.
Allen is energetic, he is always busy at his activities. He loves to read, draw comic series pictures, watch youtube videos, practice baseball, play piano. He always finds things to do on his own.
Allen is an organized kid. He does his chores – clean up his room every week without been asked. His room is very neat. Bed is clean; Toys in the toys chest; books are in bookshelf sorted by the book height; Clothes hanging in the rack separated by shirt and pants and sorted by color.
Allen is smart. He's been in the Parkway gifted program since Kindergarten. He loves quick brain quizzes. His favorite one was: how can you make 9:50 equals to 101010 by adding one line? He also loves to read, his reading level is at 4th grade now. he just finished the Harry Potter book one - Sorcerer’s stone. He is at book 2 – Chamber of secrets now.
Allen is sweet. Yesterday was Father’s Day, he made this Fortune Teller for his dad. (show it). He wrote sweet words to thank dad, I will read here. On Mother's Day, he made this yarn necklace for me too (show it).
Allen is a great kid. Picture is worth thousands of words, I’d like to share several photos of Allen to end my speech.
