Sounding Hill Path:
The Sounding Hill Path is one of the southmost of the South Shore hikes. And The trail starts about a kilometre from the Colony Avalon Interpretation Center.
.
At the trail head, there are a pretty riverhead and beach.

A couple of hundred meters in, the trail comes to the edge of short cliff overlooking Crow Island.

At one point about 3 km in, the trail climbs inland, providing a spectacular view of Aquaforte Harbour and a lot of blueberries.

Crossing over some loose stones, the trail passes alongside a beach called Fairmouth Cove.

Winding through woods and wetlands across planks, the trail heads downhill to Spout River

It continues another 500 m until it meets the road.
