Personnally, I would have put "La grande illusion" at the first place, "Paths of glory" in two and "Lawrence of Arabia" only in three.

Beneath Hill 60 .One of my favorite war movie. check it out, amazing. I listen to the song every 11th.

I would add "Uomini contro" (Many Wars Ago 1970) from Francesco Rossi

A good ww1 mini-series is "Our World War". A perfect realization of ww1.
a ‘Storm of Steel’ movie. We dont need more “anti-war” movies. Just plain and simple war movies depicting war without tones of “anti- war”. Ernst Jünger wrote an amazing book, would be nice to see it on screen.

A few omissions ...The Trench, The Blue Max, Red Baron, Dr Zhivago, The Lighthorseman, ANZACs, Aces High, , Zeppelin, Flyboys, Michael Collins, Ryan's Daughter, Shout at the Devil, Admiral, Journey's End, Wipers Times - Not easy, is it?

Totally underrated and not even mentioned great WW1 films.
1. Captain Conan. Exellent film about french stormtrooper.
2. Uomini contro. Really dark and depressing film about Italian front
3. Deathwatch. It is a not realistic mistic horror, but it is pure concentration of the WWI spurit of the dirt, gas and blood
