80年代，電子合成器的科技加上MTV電視頻道對音樂施予影像化的視覺，以英國為首的新浪潮節奏大舉進軍樂壇。
1981年一支德國電子組合Alphaville加入電子音樂的流行戰局。受到Ultravox樂隊結構和音樂風格的Alphaville
是個簡單樸實的團體，他們顯現出了一流樂團的素質和水平，除了怦然的動感節拍之外，它還滿佈著新潮、華麗、
冷酷、懷舊、傷感、神秘、夢幻、藝術的氣氛與氣質。 Marian Gold、Bernhard Lloyd兩位創作核心加上Frank
Mertens、Ricky Echolette等團員，造就了Big In Japan、Forvever Young、Dance With Me等人氣代表作。
89年與Tangerine Dream樂團的電子音樂界先鋒Klaus Schulze琢磨音樂理念，並與多位導演將專輯中的歌曲拍成
短片集迦〈鷤鹘y影帶概念，其中標題為「Songlines」的短片還一舉勇奪奧斯卡獎，Marian和Bernhard也分別
發表個人專輯。他們於1984年在歐洲大陸上發行的第一個單曲Big In Japan，還特意請來Tangerinep Dream的
Klausp Schulze作為發行人，但是Gold在後來未能擴大影響、發展起來,被當時挪威的A-ha ,英國的Pet shop boys
給比下去了，但不管還有多少人記得Alphaville，Forever Young 依然被傳遍著...
Alphaville has always embraced technology and used it to produce music to show the coldness of the world.
For this release, their cold, distant, sometimes frightening music has been remixed to fit into the sound and
the vibes of 2001/2002. That does not mean that this is a party album, quite the opposite. This is dance music
for the depressed 4 a.m. rave, and for the most part it is quite good. The remixes maintain the beauty of the
original music, and the songs chosen easily lend themselves to the remix treatment.
