Cold Mountain

这些天看"Cold Mountain ".
Nichol Kidman'的电影,我不是太感冒.不过看这部片子,让我深深喜爱她的朗读和其中的对话..

Ada -- read:

Inman saying:
A thousand moments. They're like a
                         bag of tiny diamonds glittering in a
                         black heart. Don't matter if they're
                         real or things I made up. The shape
                         of your neck. The way you felt under
                         my hands when I pulled you to me.

                         Maybe you can't see my face, but if
                         you could see my inside, my whatever
                         you want to name it, my spirit, that's
                         the fear I have deeper than any gash
                         on my neck. I think I'm ruined. They
                         kept trying to put me in the ground,
                         but I wasn't ready, no ma'am, no
                         more ready than that scoundrel in
                         there's not ready to die on us. But
                         if I had goodness, I lost it. If I
                         had anything tender in me I shot it
                         dead.

作品对战争,爱的描述是写在外层的,引申层里更有对人性的基本点,爱的广义性,人生journey的引喻,让我深深为作品吸引.
南北战争中,南方home guard的残忍,北方yankee的粗暴,都是随处可点的.
人性在战争中twisted,vanished.为一口食物,可以无所不为.

作者把爱情放极高的位置,是生之动力,是一切可以光辉的原因.
Inman 在万里跋涉的路上,想的是Ada捧着tray在屋外等他...
Ada在风雪里活下去的动力是等待,等待那个远方的,走向她的人影...

作者是大气的.作品远不停留在爱情上,对人世的艰辛,他是不回避的,而是直面的.Ruby的出现是那样的鲜活和闪亮.
是的,我们没有幸运的时光,可我们有双手和智惠,deal with it !
当看见Ada和Ruby 辛勤的劳动,自力更生,作者是如此的赞赏.
生存的意义,就是没有意义,就是在没有意义里找到意义..
我们都是地球的异乡人...在劳作里认清你自己.

可以把Inman的 long long journey 看作是人生的驿路,生的结局总是死,可他经历了爱情,对恶的抗争,对美好的向往,
最后的死是因为他对丑恶人性的轻信.隐喻不言而喻.在Ada的怀里,Inman消逝了,但他也得到的生的延续...
