為了節省許多老中的寶貴時間，我把一般謝卡大致分為四類:(1) 謝送禮 (2)謝招待 (3) 謝幫忙 (4) 謝慰問。並舉出例句，做為參考。(句中的主詞，動詞單複數，禮物的名稱，送禮的對象與場合，請客招待和幫忙的種類，都可加以改變 )
(1)謝送禮(Thanks for gifts):
一般包括結婚、生日、畢業、生小孩、聖誕等等。禮物多半是不貴的生活用品。購買的謝卡，即是印有感謝的字眼，但還要親筆寫上幾個字，表示親切。(老外多半都會在謝卡上指出禮物的名稱和喜愛 )
例如:Thank you ever so much for the pretty soft and fluff sweater you bought for me. With the cold weather coming, it is just what I need. How like you to be so generous!
謝謝你買給我那件漂亮柔軟毛衣。天氣即將轉冷，這正是我所需要的。你太大方了！
How thoughtful of you to select such a distinctive oil painting as our wedding gift. You can be sure it will always be one of our most treasured possessions.
