(1)本文全部例句裡所指的人，性別和動詞時態，都可改變。被推荐人如未離職，動詞就用現在式，如已離職，則用過去式。
(2)推荐信屬正式信件，所以少用俚語或口語。
(3)通常只寫被推荐者的優點和積極性，而不寫缺點，以免影響其前途。
(4)不可過份吹噓，以免減低真實性和可信度。即使被推荐者的優點很多，也只要集中幾個要點。
(5)對被推荐者的能力，不可因私人的偏見而影響公正性。
