StrengthNo. 1: Penetration
Jeremy Lin is not the fastest player in the NBA, however, he isamazing at driving to the rim.
Withhesitation dribble and change of pace, Lin splits the defense to either createlayups for himself or assist his teammates for open shots.
In fact,Lin's penetration is so effective that hardly anybody can defend him while heis penetrating.
One majorreason for Lin's high field-goal percentage is Lin's tendency to score throughpenetration rather than jumpers.
Throughout his recent games, Lin has proved that he can playon-ball defense by defending strong offensive players such as Deron Williams,Devin Harris, John Walland Derek Fisher well.
Moreover,Lin has also shown a tendency to participate in help-defense, aiding histeammates and leading the improved defense of the New York Knicks.
StrengthNo. 3: Court Vision
One of the main reasons Lin earned the starting spot for theKnicks was that Lin was a "pure point guard"—a point guard with courtvision.
Since hisstep-up game against the Nets, Lin has invigorated the Knicks offense and operatedperfectly under the offensive-oriented Mike D’Antoni.

Lin was a fair shooter in Harvard,averaging above 30 percent in three-point shooting in the last three years ofcollege. However, in the NBA, Lin’s shooting ability isn't really working out.
In hispost-breakout games, Lin showed a reluctance to shoot long-range shots andthree-pointers even in open situations.
Most ofLin's field goals come from efficient drive-ins not jumpers, demonstratingLin's weak and streaky shooting.
