The Day After Tomorrow

If we went back to the ice age
what could I burn to keep myself warm
books if I still have the printed versions
furniture if they are not the contemporary ones
made of glass or steel
or my poems
since there will not be many left to read anyhow
If we still have each other
at the end of tunnel
Let's burn the last bit of fire under freedom
then to be frozen into a sculpture
as transparent as how we started love
in each other's arms
leave tender be forever as the memory of mankind
Not the cause and effect
we tend to care too much
or too less
