Our Pets

My daughter said she did not want to be home alone
afterschool heading to the middle school
so we gave her a dog
The dog thought my daughter is her Mom
so she became the shadow of my daughter

When my daughter had boy friend in high school
or later goes to college
my dog felt left alone
she became my shadow and walks under moonlight a lot
with me to pick up a few lines here and there
Although she still gets extremely excited
when my daughter come back from college

One of my neighbor lost his black dog to cancer
but before his old one died
he already got another puppy of the same breed
He and his black dog walk a lot everyday
He even reads newspaper during the walk
It is hard to say who needs a walk more than the other

Another old widow neighbor lost her long term cat friend
The cat played quite well with most of dogs on the street
One time got bitten by some fox or of the sort
got psychological drama and health went downhill
The lady is till strong and even start driving out after hip replacement

Neighbors greet each other and their pets
just like greeting each other and their kids
Pets sometimes are more polite than kids
and lot closer to us than kids
