Christmas Lights

Wondering why I set up the lights
not much for neighbors
not much for grownup kids
God sees enough lights for sure

More for those souls
unsettled in the other world
darkness fills most of the universe
not the super white heaven as we were told

More for expressing our appreciation of life
love we receive
hope we see beyond our daily routines
giving we shall continue

Lit up the past
lit up the future
We need some colorful reflection
in snowy night before spring refreshes ours
