Just happy that Lakers grinded it out to win the NBA final in game 7 against historical rivalry, Boston Celtics, not a pretty one to watch until the 4th quarter when Lakers started to put on defense pressure and got everyone else producing in the offense like game 6. Bryant really did not have much to go on with in the game, but that's the old saying, when you can't score, you drive down the lane. He was defended firecely by Celtics and nearly worked out for Boston, except Ron Artest, who Celtics did not expect to contribute just enough to be beaten.
Artest, was the only one shining in the first 3 quarters, tough defense against Pierce, steals, rebounds and all the little field goals to keep crowd in the hope, to keep it long enough so Bryant, Gasol and Fisher could come back alive to the game. Atest was suspended at Indiana after 2004-2005 brawl in Detroit, David Stern sort of handed Indiana basketball era to the closing toll, with farewell to Reggie Miller too. Artest was there quite a few years to be main artery of the club, but perhaps he should be thankful what the incident had taught him. He is now the one deserved and prided Champion, with the ring, that those Hoosiers had dreamed so desperately over the years and years as long as I had followed Reggie Miller's era and thereafter. Salute to the persistence of Ron Artest and all the rest of happy Lakers, they grinded this one out for the history.
