There was a mentioning of C. S. Lewis on the morning radio. Memories flushed back about the books he wrote and the times I read them. I dug up some of the quotes I had and sort of refreshed myself. Unfortunately, the detailed sources of those quotes are not clearly recorded.
By the way, all the flaws in the Chinese translation will be solely mine and you are welcome to share your version!
A good writer is one who simply knows how to put words in ways that speak to our inner emotions and our outer struggles, or, to the very essence of human existence. _______________________________________________________
“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

神给我们的总是最好的，这点我们并不怀疑；我们所不明白的是，领受这个最好的过程究竟有多痛苦！

神知道我们所要遭遇的种种磨炼，他装备我们，不是要我们经历磨炼的时候毫无痛苦，而是在我们历经磨炼之后品格不受污损。
