办公室Manager热情地送来一大盆切开一半后涂上奶油的Hot Cross Buns，另加一大袋Chocolate Eggs，给大家共享。Morning Tea time, 一边品着现磨的浓郁的咖啡，一边咬上一口奶香柔软的Cross Buns，再抓上几粒Chocolate Eggs，不由自问：十字面包、小兔型和蛋型巧克力与复活节到底有什么样的关系？

Eggs, like rabbits and hares, are fertility symbols of extreme antiquity ; since birds lay eggs and rabbits and hares give birth (to large litters) in the early spring, these became symbols of the rising fertility of the earth at the Vernal Equinox .
In many historically Christian countries, the buns are traditionally eaten on Good Friday , with the cross standing as a symbol of the crucifixion . They are believed by some to pre-date Christianity , although the first recorded use of the term "hot cross bun" is not until 1733.
