The other day I was talking with someone and suddenly she made a comment: you are a racist.
I said, yeah a little bit.
But afterwards, I realize that I'm no more a racist than an average person. Or in another word, everybody, every-body, is a racist.
Here's why.
I believe that we should look upon a person individually.
But this does not interfere with the concept that there are strong correlations between a race and a certain trait.
A trait can be good, can be bad.
Nowadays, it seems that you will be categorized as a racist if you make a generalization on a person vs. that person's race's bad trait. But if you comment on a good trait, you are okay - you are stating the fact.
That's kind of double-standard, don't you think.
People make generalizations all the time. At least I do.
Based on what I experience, I conclude that the correlation with laziness is significantly stronger for an African American than for a Chinese. It may not be true individually, but in aggregate based on the small sample that I have had first hand experience with, this is largely valid.
So am I being a racist or simply stating a (imperfectly substantiated) fact??

Last night I tried to do some work at home. Usually that doesn't happen because when I'm online, I tend to do ANYTHING but work.
I stayed offline and instead watched TV to induce a more working-friendly environment.
I tried to watch something I don't really like. You know, so that I can spare some attention to work while my eyes are glued to the TV.
So I watched this reality show called Work Out on Bravo TV.
I watched bits and pieces of this show last season as well. It's about this man-ish lesbian woman who has her own fitness center. She has about 10 trainers that work for her, so I guess that it's pretty sizable, for an entrepreneur.
Anyway. This woman is so annoying. Full of shit, basically. She really gets on my nerves and I kept wondering to myself - why am I watching this? Why do I continue to watch this?
The tongue kissing is pretty cool though. However, that's not worth all the bitching and obnoxious-ing (I know this is not a word!)
Not even remotely funny. I think some people on the west coast are _____s.
