The Old Man     

The tears have all been shed now 泣如雨下，
We've said our last goodbyes 我们作了最后的道别
His soul's been blessed 他的灵魂得到保佑
He's laid to rest 他的躯体得到安息
And it's now I feel alone 却给我留下无尽的孤寂

He was more than just my father 他不仅是我的父亲
My teacher, my best friend 他还是我的师长和朋友
And he'll still be heard 我独自吟唱着那首我们共同拥有的歌
In the songs we shared 那里我仍能听到他的心声
When I play them on my own

And I never will forget him 我永远不会忘记
For he made me what I am 是他塑造了我，
Though he may be gone 尽管他已离去
Memories linger on, 记忆却不曾抹去
And I miss him, the old man 我想念他， 那个可爱的老头

As a child he'd take me walking 儿时随他远行
By mountain, field and stream 翻过高山， 穿过田野和小溪
And he'd show me things 他给我看的那些宝贝， 是我们俩的共有秘密
Not known to kings 
A secret between him and me

Like the colors on a pheasant 是他教我欣赏那晨起的锦鸡的斑斓，
As he rises in the dawn 享受垂钓的欢愉，
Or how to fish or make a wish  还有验证那神仙树边祈愿的灵验
Beside a fairy tree

I thought he'd live forever 本以为， 他会长命百岁
He seemed so big and strong 他看来是那么健壮和魁伟
But the minutes fly 但时光流年，对父亲和他的孩子是那么的无情
And the years roll by 
For a father and his little one

And suddenly when it happened 顷刻之间， 还是发生了，
There was so much left unsaid 留下太多的话还没来得及说
No second chance 没有第二次机会， 再也没有机会
To tell him  thanks 对他所做的一切说声谢谢
For everything he'd done

And I never will forget him 永远不会忘记他，
For he made me what I am 是他造就了我
Though he may be gone 尽管他已远去
