IPod offered for two days as sex slave

A MAN who used an internet chat room to try to lure a 14-year-old girl to be his sex slave has been jailed for at least three years.

Nicholas Reuben\'s twisted and disturbed morality led to an interest in young children and his possession of over 2000 images of child pornography, a judge in Melbourne said.

Reuben, 28, talked with a girl named Lisa in a chat room in June last year, telling her he would buy her an iPod if she met him for sex.

Reuben arranged to meet the girl at Box Hill train station, telling her she would be his sex slave for two days.

The County Court was told the girl was actually an undercover police officer who arrested Reuben when he turned up for the meeting.

A search of his Vermont home found 2000 images and 100 videos of child pornography stored on his computer.

Judge Bill White said the material contained disgusting and abhorrent recordings of children, some under the age of one, being sexually abused.

You conduct can only be described as sexually depraved and perverted, involving your own sexual gratification, he said.

Judge White said it was particularly disturbing that these offences came just one month after Reuben was interviewed by police over allegations he had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Reuben pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual penetration of a child under 16 and one count each of making and possessing child pornography and using a carriage service to procure a child under 16.

Judge White said Reuben had shown shame and embarrassment at his disgraceful and pathetic offending and had indicated he was willing to continue counselling sessions.

Reuben was sentenced to four years and nine months\' jail with a non-parole term of three years.
