    马远新、王海华夫妻是宁夏自治区西吉县沙沟乡中口村人， 2004年，西吉县发生一起盗窃案，警方怀疑是马远新所为，并在一天早上翻窗进入马远新家，试图抓捕马远新。结果警方在翻窗进入马家时，睬到了马远新刚出生的儿子，小孩当时就严重受伤，送到医院后不冶身亡。
    这件事情发生后，当地警方给了马远新家一万七千元，说是生活补助。马远新夫妇对此非常不满，很快就开始了上访的不归路。从2004年开始，夫妻二人上访了30多次，后来被当局定性为“缠访”，2006年1月，王海华被当局判刑五年投入监狱。
   
    2006年12月，马远新带着已有的三个儿子到北京上访，他们露宿街头，一直坚持到2007年6月15日。当天，马远新领着两个儿子去国务院信访办上访，另一个儿子马虎雄则没有去。6月15日下午，正在国务院信访办上访的马远新父子三人突然被赶来的西吉县警方的人抓走，6月16日，马远新父子三人被抓回西吉县。随即，马远新被处以行政拘留十天的处罚。
   
    昨天，马远新拘留期满出狱，民生观察随即对他进行了采访。据马远新讲，6月15日警方找到他后，立即将他押走，还给他戴上背铐，他根本没有机会去找马虎雄。就这样，七岁的马虎雄被遗落在北京，现在生死未卜。
   
    谈到马虎雄，马远新非常伤心和着急，他不知道他这个儿子现在怎么样了，他表示，他正在筹集路费，准备马上到北京去找儿子。
