In my opinion a good boss is:
1. fair
2. knows how to maximize each employee's strengh as everyone is different
Pushy or make everyone working hard may not necessarily get the best results. A good boss should teach the employees working "smarter".
I never had Chinese boss. But the engineers work for me may consider me as one. I had:
1. A Jewish American boss who was a researcher/Ph.D turned into a manager at the time;
2. An Indian boss who liked to take all the credit from people worked for him;
3. A Canadian (English) boss who had all the merit as a good manager;
4. Another Indian boss who is OK;
5. An American (German) boss who totally lake of people management skills, but was very nice to his employees including me.
If you are working for a smaller company your chance of having a good boss is smaller too.
Just statistically speaking. However, I did work for some small companies. I had a great boss in one and horrible one in the other.
Could you please elaborate it a little bit more? I try to understand it better. Many thanks!
