BM is a well established brach of performing arts. In addition to the fun, kids can improve their ET
taste and get stimuli for further study over what they have learned from the shows.

I am listing a few from what my kids have seen(some of them more than once), including what I believe the min
age from which they should normally understand and enjoy it.

Just FYI--no intent to sell any ticket to anyone.

1. These numbers are subjective and mostly based on my experiences with my own kids.
Don't forget that I was "guilty" for cutting the cable service when my oldest son
was 4, and thus I was eager to fulfill my promise to him for "no loss of fun".
You should make up your own mind, based on your kids' situation. BTW, there is no max age-
my 80+ parents enjoyed "the Lion King" as much as my youngest son did a few yrs ago.

2. Value is again subjective. Some shows are very ET(my kids laughed thru "Crazy Guys"),
but no where they edu kids as much as Les Mis, Joseph, Miss Saigon,...

3. Musicals are much cleaner than movies. PG here only means you need to assess kids'
readiness and prepare them by doing some homework before seeing the show.

4. Understandably or not, BM is not popular among Chinese Americans yet. The simple ways
to get started are either to see a sure-fire like "The Lion King", or buy the DVD of, say,
"Joseph...". Once you/your kids get the experience, you may realize that you have missed
too much by not starting earlier.
