hmmm, 也许是吧！
ash 有点灵的意思？
例如：Peace to his ashes ! 愿他的灵魂安眠!

“to be fooled”有谁这么傻？明知被愚弄还去受愚弄。。。所以我翻译成“自愚”，愚弄和被愚弄让我想不通。。。除非是被上天愚弄，主动愚弄只能愚弄人不能愚弄天，被人愚弄有点犯傻，是对自己的歧视，如果不怨天尤人的话，就剩下“自愚”了。。。

我感觉“燃烧”和“lively fooled” 都是unconscious undertone。。。

我还是喜欢“灰烬”一词，彻底燃烧留下"灰烬"，半燃烧[余灰？？]但是“生命的灰烬”失去了某种 spiritual的感觉，所以加之“燃不尽”。。。但仍不够好。。。

WX是想说燃烧之后，灰烬里飞出的“精灵”（如鸟）？？

生命燃烧的感觉，燃烧是不是"lively fooled"的感觉？如果是那样，我倒挺喜欢 lively fooled。。。

感觉没有力度，没有燃烧的视觉之感。。。ASH是暗含了燃烧的过程。。。
FOOLED，我感觉作舟选择这个词，也有语言上的环绕，英文在这里更容易看清楚。。。

[生命] is closer to something that can "burn" ---fire of life .... so, a filly lived life will leave something beautiful behind, and that is poetry.....
Seems like we have to rephrase some words in the Chinese version ....

我不太喜欢“人生”这个词，它和生命带来的内涵不一样。“人生”里含有某种悲哀
的感觉，它里面具有“动态”，度过这一生，给人线性的视觉，如“人生如梦”；
但“生命”比较宽广，里面有种豁然或达然或喜悦的感觉。。。

我更相信她与几个已婚男子的神秘感情。。。（不好意思，八卦:）

非常同意：she is essential as far as American poetry is concerned ....her poetry is still more "modern" than many living poets' today, both spiritually and linguistically!

YY & ZF, thanks for mentioning E.D. ::::::: she is essential as far as American poetry is concerned ....her poetry is still more "modern" than many living poets' today, both spiritually and linguistically!

Her poetry is personal, private at times, but they embrace both Life and Death, Love and Fear, etc....Just imagine being a lesbian in the 19th century!!!!

YY: 她的诗歌对我而言，是很“中性”的，因为富有理性吧，我想和她受过的教育，富裕生活的环境，与终生的闭门思考有关，我非常欣赏她的创造性：)

恰巧我正在读E.D...我个人以为对她有一点点误解（纯属我个人的感觉而已，请见谅），我感觉她非常女性化，激情，感性，性感，从她的诗中可以读出她同样有不为人所知的罗曼史。。。人们读到的她的理性来自她的特有的感性所感知（有点儿类似divine sense或者说能感知到universal truth），她的诗歌对我来说很像月亮（不是月光是月亮）。。。但很显然，以现代人的眼光来看，她生活得不“健康”，给我来自the past:::::的感觉。。。她受到过很好的教育，而且她一生写诗，艺术音乐和诗歌创作是她的生活，她一生都在生活(art is life)。。。以至她和同时代的女性很不一样，非常迷人的女性。。。（个人看法）

很喜欢这首诗，非常有层次的感觉，刺激人的感受，很强烈。。。意境深邃和看不见的隐秘性感确有些似Emily Dickinson，不同的是意象气质还是作舟的感觉，特别是画面感与音律感。。。作舟的诗歌，感觉上很遵循自然的创造路径（the creative path of nature）。。。如最后无形无迹但萦绕不去的那种效果。。。
