UPON HEARING ABOUT ELEVEN SCHOOLS BEING CLOSED IN THIS BEAUTIFUL CITY Money. The same problem again! There is never enough money to keep the schools running--- schools in poor neighborhood, mind you! The superintendent admitted with a graceful smile before PowerPoint The government funding is short & Education is way down on the list The wisdom of the forefathers’ has gone to the dogs! In a dark alley---this was on the same news channel---a fifth grader shot a third grader during a kiddo fight, leaving the ten-year-old dead behind Girls & Boys Club For a person like me---too naïve to spend time pondering money--- I am puzzled by the imbalanced equation between the billions spent on killing machines operated by young handsome American soldiers and a drop in a bucket on children’s future . . . Kids are killing each other for a kick! This is the future we are facing! This is how they react to the glorified bullshit! This is the way boys are raised in the 21st century! This is the crime we’re all involved in! This is a slap on the face of Freedom! This is how they spit on the face of God! Next time, when you hear a rich bastard talking nonsense about your bright future and your children’s bright future, or even your pleasant afterlife in a Wal-Mart underworld make sure look into his eyes and tell him: Shove your money up your ass and take it to your gated paradise the day you die! + z.z. 2006

好一首有“洞察”力的诗！！！
最后一节非常Powerful, 洞察现象/事物后creating authentic power，not the “power” of greed and stupidity of the authority.... 通读全诗，越来越理解“钱是王八蛋”:)如果生命有一点关于智慧逻辑的常识。。。“every single individual life is precious ..... not how much money you can make in the modern slavery system, but how you can enrich your soul in this short life.....”
这首诗也非常“诗意”，我所理解的诗意不只是流于文字表面的诗意，而是诗歌中无形的一种气势（或流淌）和可无限的延伸。。。

这里每一句每一句读来都令人深思，可延伸到对其他诸多想象/事物的同样思考。。。
全诗行文，节奏，流淌，气势， 起落回荡。。。读来晓畅爽快！！
这首诗让我想起双壁轩里Howard Zinn的演讲。。。
"The lesson of that history is that you must not despair, that if you are right, and you persist, things will change…… do what you can -- you don't have to do something heroic, just something, to join with millions of others who will just do something, because all of those somethings, at certain points in history, come together, and make the world better.”
thanks for sharing your poetry...when I am reading this poem, I can hear a voice from a world better...
when education fails, hope will be gone . . .that's how i feel sorry for kids, they are sandwitched by staged reality (reality-show, celebrity. . .) and broken reality!!!
