Bleeding Iris _______________________________ Sometimes love can be too much to bear You simply cannot keep your heart contained Love is nothing but an outgrowth of one’s self Willingly to be offered to a greater selflessness Like this light, now, leaping through my windows No promises; No romantic ditties to fool the mind Except a heartfelt acceptance of your silent tears Or, is it blood that illuminates the empty vessel of my longing? Your purple tears or passion’s blood Make me want to retreat deeper into the song I have watched you grow in the delicate air Your smile softens the iron-gray space around me I wish I could bleed with you This hour, this moment, this new day!
