promise or not?

Have you even regreted a promise that you once made?

I once told a collegue how I appreciate his support and will definitely credit him in a publication. Now the time has come and I realized that I cannot afford a generous gesture. "Well, it is only business, nothing personal." I wish I can say this without any guilt.

I wrote this thought down at 3am in the morning, because I cannot sleep on this. At my age, I thought that nothing can break my strong will. But consious can still wreacks me.
