Differences

Since arriving in America four months ago, I unintentionally found a lot of differences between America and China.

My husband and I live in an small town where there is fresh air, big trees by the roads and squirrels jumping and running around the oaks. Squirrels are very lovely and don’t fear humans.

Unlike China, few people can be seen on the street during the day. It is said that America is a country on wheels and it seems true. Every family owns one or two cars for working and shopping. So Americans are used to sitting on wheels to do everything.

What is deepest impression is that Americans are civilized, friendly and warmhearted.  Every time I am in trouble, there’s always an American appearing in front of me just in time. Like other immigrants who have just come to America, I am eager to communicate with others but I have difficulty speaking English. Luckily, I met a very nice Christian lady and she teaches me English weekly and often invites my husband and me to visit her house, where we spent my first Thanksgiving Day in U.S. I appreciate her help but don’t know how to thank her. May God richly bless her and her family.

I think there are still many differences left to be found and these differences will help me know this country better.

I need some correction from reader, thank you!
