Broadway on Broadway

The broadway musical in New York City is a symbol of its city life. The tickets are highly affordable and the least expensive one goes for $30 seated in the last rows. The speakers are around the whole opera house so the music has a surround effect. Thus in the last row, one could even hear better. However, you may not see the stage very well. A binocular might be handy in this situation.
There is a good opportunity to join the zealor and celebrate the spirits of the broadway musicals with the fans free! Every year the first Saturday afternoon of November, I believe, is "broadway on broadway". I don't know who sponsors this, but the show companies set up a big stage on Broadway (near time square or 34 th stree?), the crowd just line up filling the sidewalk of the street and live singing, dancing and other performance will be there for about one or two hours. At the end of the event, there will be balloons, and ribbons, glittered papers shooting from the sky.
I joined one such event and felt it was even better than the performance in the theater.
