I have personally experienced a disturbing level of misconduct from the Alberta Ombudsman, which has left me feeling disheartened and betrayed. After suffering discrimination and political abuse in a small-town municipality, I sought justice through the Ombudsman, expecting fair and impartial resolution. Unfortunately, my experiences with the Ombudsman's office have been deeply disappointing.
On multiple occasions, the Alberta Municipal Affairs appointed the Ombudsman to handle my case, yet the outcomes have been far from just. In my first encounter, the Ombudsman dismissed my case after accepting false statements. This unjust treatment continued when I raised concerns of legal harassment regarding the illegal auctioning of my hotel. Shockingly, the Ombudsman again relied on incorrect evidence to close my case, with the Deputy Ombudsman even advising me against returning.
This is not merely a personal grievance but a systemic issue that affects countless citizens who rely on the Ombudsman to protect their rights. The role of the Ombudsman is to serve as a defender of justice, especially when local authorities misuse their power over small-town residents. This position should not be compromised by overlooking such transgressions, as it undermines trust in the system.
The Alberta Ombudsman must be held accountable to ensure that they truly serve the public's interests without bias. We need an investigation into the Ombudsman’s practices to prevent wrongful case dismissals based on false or misleading evidence.
I call upon the authorities to thoroughly investigate the Alberta Ombudsman’s procedures and bring about necessary reforms. Citizens of Alberta deserve an Ombudsman who will protect their rights and uphold justice for all, regardless of municipality size.
Result of the Ombudsman irresponsibility of treatment, I am too tied to struggling alone in the countryside for 13 year, which the school division relocated my both kids to foster family to avoid effective their educational and let me concentrate to struggling for fair justice.
I am mentally, physically and financially burned out, and I abandoned my hotel and residential properties in the village because of the major depression, several organizations and doctors helping me relocate in Calgary of the senior house three week ago to escape the terrible living environment.
I will keep struggling for fair justice for me, for my family and my business, and for the others who got abused and has no way out seeking fair justice. Especially I still has two kids to raising up since they are full-time students, and I have my responsibility to provide them better educational for better lives in the coming future.
Please sign this petition to demand accountability and integrity from the Alberta Ombudsman. It is imperative to restore trust in this vital role and ensure that everyone's rights are safeguarded. (I will attach the comment of Ombudsman against public interests for update post)
