Bargain

After Evan ate two thirds of his dinner today, he put down the spoon and said to me:

"Mommy, I am tired of eating my food. One more bite then I will be done."

I, of course, wanted him to finish all his food, so I said: "No, five more bites then you can be done."

"No!" he protested, "Ten more bites!"

"Deal!"

I knew once I got him to pass the "one bite" deal, he would just lose track of his bites and finish the whole thing (and he did)…all he cared about was that he won the bargain. But I got you to eat all your food, baby :)
