Song: Five Hundred Miles
Artist: The Brothers Four

If you miss the train I'm on
You will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow
A hundred miles
A hundred miles a hundred miles
You can hear the whistle bow
A hundred miles
Lord I'm one Lord I'm two
Lord I'm three Lord I'm four
Lord I'm five hundred miles
Away home away home
Lord I'm five hundred miles
Away home

Not a shirt on my back
Not a penny to my name
Lord I can't go back home
This away
This away this away
Lord I can't go back home
This away
If you miss the train I'm on
You will know that I am gone
You can hear the whistle blow
A hundred miles

According to Wikipedia,The Brothers Four are an American folk group founded in 1957 in Seattle, Washington. Bob Flick, John Paine, Mike Kirkland, and Dick Foley met at the University of Washington, where they were members of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity in 1956 (hence the "Brothers" appellation). Their first professional performances were the result of a prank played on them in 1958 by a rival fraternity, who had arranged for someone to call them, pretend to be from Seattle's Colony Club, and invite them to come down to audition for a gig. Even though they were not expected at the club, they were allowed to sing a few songs anyway, and were subsequently hired. Despite all the changes during the years, the group was still active as of 2007. I like The Brothers Four's songs very much. Try To Remember sung by them is one of my favorites.
