一棵树 两个人的记忆
看电影《Love Is a Many Splendored Thing》有感
七月的初夏，网友enjoywater在美语论坛介绍了一部让我感动的电影《Love Is a Many Splendored Thing 》，以前我只知道同名歌曲《Love Is a Many Splendored Thing 》，读了enjoywater的介绍后，我才知道电影是根据中国籍亚欧混血女作家韩素音的同名自传小说《A Many-Splendoured Thing》改编拍摄的，电影故事讲述的是美国记者马克（由William Holden扮演）在香港邂逅中欧混血儿医生韩素音（由Jennifer Jones扮演）曲折的爱情故事，故事发生在1949年至1950年，当时正是国共内战的关键时期以及朝鲜战争的爆发时期。
我观看了enjoywater分享的《Love Is a Many Splendored Thing 》视频片断，脑海了略过了这一行字：一棵树，两个人的记忆。这段视频剪辑的非常精彩，韩素音兴匆匆地登台阶而上，向山顶跑去，当她看到山顶上的那颗树时，突然地放慢了脚步，直到马克的出现，韩素音露出了灿烂的笑容，韩素音见到马克便说： "I am late , when I did not see you, I am afraid you are gone.马克答道：" "You are early, we are both early." 他们俩手牵手，向树下走去。在树下聊天，在草地上浪漫，柔情蜜意，突然一只蝴蝶落在马克的肩头，可在马克回头一看的时，蝴蝶却飞跑了。随之，镜头一转，出现了马克在阵地的镜头，他在给韩素音写信，他写道：“I used to think that I run out of things to write you..."突然，传来了报警声，他们带上钢盔，迅速转进了战壕，高空传来了飞机的疯炸。镜头切入韩素音的家中，她的好友带来一份报纸，报道了马克阵亡的消息，韩素音无法相信和接受这个悲伤的事实。
韩素音穿过闹市，来到了她和马克曾经度过美好时光的山上，她仿佛又看到了马克向她走来，对他说：“Give me your hand." 她抚摸着那颗树，突然在树下痛苦起来了，马克的画外音想起：I often think healing is men's salvation. And I envy your ability to help. You deal with suffering,but you can do something about it. I can only stand and watch."此时，曾经落在马克肩头上的蝴蝶又飞回来了，We have not missed, you and I. We have not missed that many splendid things. 树还在，山依旧，这是不再有他了，唯有记忆在，爱永恒，正如歌中所唱：
Love is a many-splendored thing
It's the April rose
That only grows in the early spring
Love is nature's way
Of giving a reason to be living
The golden crown that makes a man a king
Once on a high and windy hill
In the morning mist two lovers kissed
And the world stood still
Then your fingers touched my silent heart
And taught it how to sing
True love's a many-splendored thing

我电影看的少，是enjoywater在美语坛推荐介绍，才知道的，我也喜欢Net King Cole的歌声。
可惜当时我没有看过这套套电影,
但却十分喜爱Net King Cole 唱这首歌 ;
Love is a many splendored things
