I met my boss at the city we live in 世界真小, 遇到前老板在另一个城市

Lives may take people in different directions, but God will have a way to bring old friends back together. For some personal reasons, I left my group and moved to another state.  But, it made me surprise that I got a chance to be able to meet my ex-supervisor Jeff and his wife in the same city. Yesterday, we had lunch and did a lot of talking in my house. During the lunch, my husband took this picture. We all really enjoying the time spent on that afternoon.  

Back to several years ago, I got the opportunity to join our group as a senior staff engineer in the Mechanical Test and Analysis Group. From academia to the industry that was a big jump. I felt excited but a little bit nervous. Fortunately, my supervisor was a nice person. He was very patient and guided me to start my first project. Gradually, I became very familiar with my work and was really enjoying working with my supervisor and co-workers. The working environment was harmonic.

We often discussed questions, tried to solve some tough problems, and sometimes also talk daily life issues. Since the economic crisis, sometimes the group downsized and sometimes upsized. But, everyone was survived so that everyone could be able to focus on their project and worked hard to do their best.

One thing is never forgettable. In the first memorial holiday I spent there, we had a potluck at my supervisor's yard. We spent a wonderful holiday there with eating, talking, gaming and visiting his home. The games he prepared were various such as shooting, golf, target, and bike. It is hard for us to imagine that was the last time we had a party. Since then, our group was dismissed permanently. The group members were re-arranged. I was transferred to the special project department. My supervisor went to the dragline department. All members missed the time we spent together. However, things may not always go our way, but we didn’t become disappointed. We shook it off, soon involved in the new environment, started new projects, and counted it all joy.

Now he faced a new challenge: retirement. I praise the Lord for his family safety from finance problem and praying for him finding a new style of life.
