many small cap can shoot up 100% in 3-6 months after breakout the bottom, penny stocks can go even fast (a few days). in the meantime, when they topped out, it can drop half to reach a real bottom. most of gapdown stocks (small and mid caps) have this rule. here are some example: tlab , amkr, palm, rbak, ........
