Confucius said: People are all the same, only the culture is so different. Here is experience I encountered:
I bought new SUV Honda in 2000 and I was so fond of it and when I had to choose a plate number, I didn’t hesitate to jump for a lovely number: 666 CFK. It stands for smooth and luck in Chinese culture. You might put on auction with this beautiful number or paying fortune for this luck number if you are living in China. It’s amazing that it is totally free and easy to obtain this lucky number here in Canada as long as it's available in the database of registration organization. My Chinese friend always showed their admiration when they saw my plate number. I was proud of it definitely and wished that if it could bring me luck and out of trouble in my life. One day an English lady was staring this plate with stunning look: Hey, Yamin, how come you choose devil's number for your vehicle? I beg your pardon? DEvil? What the hell it related with devil? I was so depressed when she told me the bible story about how 666 stand for devil's signal. And she told me nobody would choose this number for any purpose. Same thing as like 13 does not exist on the elevator. From then on, I came to feel uneasy all the time while driving on the road. Today I still have to drive this car with this embarrass number everyday. One day I will let it go, and the top priority the new owner will do before his hitting the road is: change the plate number and shake off this "devil".
Coincidently, Today I saw a car steering in front of me with an astonishing number to me: 444 LVE. I couldn't help bursting into laugh. That's the number everybody trying to avoid in China: Go to hell. Only one”4” will be enough to make you sad, not mention of triple “4”. I finally at ease, oh, Lord, I have a companion on the road.
