Movie“ The Edge of love' 观后感

In this movie, Dylan Thomas is portrayed as a self-centred hypocrite, even a narcissist, who shamelessly drained the life out of two women who loved him deeply and innocently. Lacking any sense of morality or virtue, he exploited their spirit, intellectual talent, money ( Vera's husband's money), and personal dignity without a shred of respect or care, let alone love, as if they did not have souls of their own. He never truly loved either woman. He loved only himself. He needed them merely to harness their free spirits and youthful energy to fuel his own life and fill the void within himself. He is a parasite on Vera.

Many so-called literary giants were, in real life, far less admirable than their public reputations suggest. They were deeply flawed individuals in their private lives; some, behind the myth, rather petty, selfish, mean-spirited and ignoble human beings.
