Tempus on board

Emirates airline is the second to introduce Tempus on its long haul flights.the first airline is British midland.Tempus is s piece of very advanced medical equipment which connect patient with ground medical professional on above 370000 feet altitude.(www.rtdltd.com) yesterday i was rostered for the training on how to operate the maschine.
the explanation was just 20 mins,but pratise took much longer.the good thing is we  should always remember to use the ?(help screen for anything).it is like the computer internet,first connect wire,then press dial on screen,then the connection between us and Medlink established (voice call) then followed the pics on the screen,we will check patient"s blood pressure(with blood pressure gauge) and O2,pulse(with Onix) ,after data transmitted to Medlink(they have the same screen as well,it takes 1-3 mins for the voice connection and 1-8 mins for the data connection). they might ask you to check ECG reading,Capnometre(Co2 level) and send to them  before diagnosing for the patient.you can take a pic for the patient  with the camera if  it is nessary.It is a very expensive equipment,but with this it will save airline the money that we spent on diverting the aircraft .for example a severe indigetion was diagnosed as heart attack because of the similiar symptoms. Tempus helps the medical professional  on ground visually sees the pic of the passenger and get the acurate reading for vital signs.
along with defibrilator  we become confident to deal with most of the important medical cases on board:)
