A phone call to my old classmate

I received an email from a college classmate, which told me that she just divorced -- really sad news. She mentioned that she would like to apply for immigration to Canada and get out of the current environment. It is understandable that she needs some fresh air at this moment. I also agree that being away for a while will be good for her.  Why not sweep away the bad mood and start a new life with second wind. However, immigration is really a big decision for everyone. So I called her last weekend.

She sounded quite negative, saying that she felt everything around her was not safe. I conceived it as the side effect of the blue mood from the divorce. Since it was an international phone call, I got down to the brass tacks right away. Within several sentences, I could tell that she dreamed too well about a new life in a foreign country. I had to tell her that grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. She has a very good job in Shenzhen and a comfortable life as well. A new life in Canada? It is still an unknown. Maybe the divorce made her lost her mind a little bit. Hope that she can go through this murky period soon.
