One day in early summer, JJ told his parents that he wanted to dig a hole in the backyard to grow trees.
He dug and dug. He went through several tools and the hole was still not what he would like it to be.
"How big do you want it to be?”
"Real big!”
Mom helped to dig. It was not big enough. Dad helped to dig, but it was not big enough. Their neighbors came to help. Still not big enough. So they called the industrial strength excavator. The excavator worked and worked and worked. For three days in a row.
"Real big!" JJ exclaimed.
"This tree'd better be a pine tree, or oak tree, or one of those types that can grow real big.” Said dad.
"Yes Daddy, real big!"
"But I don't like pine trees or oak trees! They stink!”
JJ and his parents looked and looked but couldn't find a good tree for JJ's real big hole in the small backyard.
Independence Day rolled by. JJ’s parents took him to the firework show. They had hot dogs and flannel cakes. They played Frisbee on the lawn.
The firework show started.
JJ pointed at the firework excitedly: "Moon tree!”
"Come home with me!”Cried JJ.
JJ's mom and dad were in awe. “Now that's real big!”They exclaimed.
