1. Pre-school (Ages 1-4): Early childhood education, often referred to as pre-school or pre-kindergarten, typically serves children from ages 1 to 4. These programs focus on foundational skills and social development.

2. Elementary School (Kindergarten to 5th or 6th Grade)**: Elementary school begins with kindergarten, catering to children around 5-6 years old, and continues through 5th or 6th grade, depending on the school district. The curriculum includes basic subjects such as reading, writing, math, science, and social studies.

3. Middle School (6th to 8th Grade) / Junior High School (7th to 8th Grade)**: Middle school generally covers 6th through 8th grade, while some districts have junior high schools that cover 7th and 8th grades. This stage introduces students to a more diverse curriculum, including subjects like advanced math, science, social studies, and language arts, along with elective courses.

4. High School (9th to 12th Grade): High school encompasses grades 9 through 12, typically for students aged 14-18. The curriculum includes core subjects such as English, math, science, and social studies, along with a wide range of electives. Students may also participate in Advanced Placement (AP) courses, vocational training, and extracurricular activities. Upon completion, students receive a high school diploma.

5. Community College (2 Years): Community colleges offer two-year programs leading to an associate degree. These institutions may be free or charge tuition and provide an affordable pathway for students to either enter the workforce or transfer to a four-year college or university.

6. College or University: Higher education institutions that offer bachelor\'s, master\'s, and doctoral degrees. Colleges typically offer undergraduate programs, while universities offer both undergraduate and graduate programs.

Bachelor\'s Degree (BA/BS) 4 Years: Undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree typically take four years to complete. The curriculum includes general education courses and major-specific courses.

Master\'s Degree (MA/MS) 2~3 Years: Graduate programs leading to a Master of Arts (MA) or Master of Science (MS) degree generally take 2-3 years to complete. These programs involve advanced study in a specific field and often require a thesis or capstone project.

Doctorate Degree (PhD) 3 Years: Doctoral programs leading to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or other doctoral degrees typically take three or more years to complete. These programs involve original research and a dissertation, contributing new knowledge to the field of study.
